With the Fall season is upon on us, we release our November 2013 issue featuring a very special story on a publishing house with a penchant for old-school pulp illustrations and print! Hard Case Crime is a publisher of hardboiled crime fiction that emphasizes the use of an old style pulp art by hiring some of the best illustrators in the genre to do their covers. Michael Koelsch did this beautiful cover for an upcoming release of Borderline. Even Stephen King has put himself in the mix, publishing with Hard Case Crime for his novel, The Colorado Kid.
The November issue also features and reviews of surfer and artist Alex Kopps, paper sculpture artist Tahiti Pehrson, South Korean painter Seungyea Park, Brazilian graffiti and fine artist Finok, and illustrator extraordinaire Eric Beltz. We also take a look at David Hockney's A Bigger Exhibtion at the de Young, Station to Station public art adventure, the design aesthetic of NYC's Doubleday & Cartwright, Marci Washington gives us a tour of her studio, Martyn Reed and the Nuart team gives us a city guide to Stavanger, Norway, and the new book release for iconic fashion and culture brand, FUCT.
