Sometimes we feel like we are having an unveiling party with our new issues, and the scene of a dead and/or dying bull fighter on top of a stern, conquering looking bull is not some much a party as it is a statement. The cover of February 2011 was done by Spanish artist, Escif, and in the legacy of The Sun Also Rises, the piece is called "Spanish Passion."
The February Issue also features a 26-page Photo Essay by Tod Seelie on our Juxtapoz 15th Anniversary Project in Detroit with Powerhouse Productions. The features has portraits and extensive work from Swoon, RETNA, Monica Canilao, Richard Colman, Saelee Oh, and Ben Wolf.
Filling out the features are skate and all-around conceptual artist Michael Leon, Spanish artist Escif, Brazilian artist Thais Beltrame, and San Francisco based legend, Frank Kozik. We also interview Ron Magliozzi of the MoMA in conjunction with his curation of the Juxtapoz Film Series happening at the MoMA in NYC this February. Packed. Ready for action.
